Forbes Flags Candidate Matching as Paylocity's Gap. Insurance Hiring Runs Entirely on It.
Published on August 13th, 2026
Forbes Advisor's review names one limitation in an otherwise strong recruiting suite: candidate matching. Insurance hiring depends on the exact capability that review says is limited.
- Most producers worth hiring are not applying anywhere. Per Accenture's analysis of BLS data, roughly 1.37 million insurance professionals are 55 or older against about 214,000 aged 20 to 24, a six-to-one ratio. The people an agency needs are already appointed elsewhere.
- Licensing adds a filter Paylocity's ATS was not built to check. A form field recording a licence number is not the same as a check against a state board, and Forbes's "limited automatic matching" line covers exactly this.
- BLS projects roughly 47,000 annual openings for insurance sales agents through 2034, driven mostly by turnover, which is continuous demand, not the low-volume pattern Forbes says fits Paylocity best.
What our client says

Why this works
EasySource's 50M-agent database and 800M database in total, built from NIPR, NAIC and state DOI licensing feeds, is candidate matching purpose-built for exactly what Forbes says a generic HRIS does not do well. Matched, licence-verified candidates pass into Paylocity's existing recruiting workflow.
FAQ
Does Paylocity's ATS track insurance licences?
It can store a licence number in a field. Verifying that licence against a state board is the candidate-matching gap Forbes's review names and EasySource closes the gap
