Manufacturing Plant Manager

Job Title: Manufacturing Plant Manager 

Job Summary: 

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Plant Manager in Hazelwood, Missouri. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and running the plant, which employs 50 full-time employees, predominantly from the African American community. As a Plant Manager, you will have four direct reports and be accountable for maintaining efficient operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a positive work culture.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the plant's day-to-day operations, ensuring production targets are met and maintaining quality standards.
• Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives, promoting LEAN principles and fostering a culture of positive change.
• Manage the workforce effectively, demonstrating excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Oversee the plant's financial performance and contribute to the development of the annual budget.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes and enhance product quality.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Plant Manager or Assistant Plant Manager in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a relevant field.
• Previous experience in Food, Beverage, Ingredient, Flavor, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, or similar manufacturing industries.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a predominantly African American workforce.
• Experience with P&L management and driving financial performance.
• Willingness to relocate to St. Louis, Missouri.
• Proven track record in implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• A "change" manager with the ability to positively influence the plant's culture.
• Salary expectations up to $170,000 base salary.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience managing a large African American or ethnically diverse workforce.
• Background in Food or Food-related manufacturing.
• Proven success in managing production operations in a large plant.

Job Type: Permanent

Salary Range: Base up to $170,000 plus 20% bonus
